Plenty of BOBs left for sale at Opensea.io/markspark2050! Please add one to your digital collection today. There is a new gallery featuring 24 low effort Photoshop manipulations of the first time I made Bob a work of art and tattooed him on my arm with the letters “WWBD” for What Would Bob Do? Well he hated it straight up and didn’t appreciate the pressure of having his face on my arm. But since he wouldn’t spring for the costly removal, there is remains to this day. Thanks for your support of this project and helping me to pay tribute to my friend, mentor and teacher Bob Hires.
Hey now! BOBs are officially on sale at opensea.io so rush right over there and grab a dozen. A new gallery of BOB in his sweater has been posted. Bob LOVED sweaters and this one was no exception. A pattern was defined and used as the background in this batch of low effort Photoshop manipulations dedicated to Bob Hires. There have been 425 pieces created since launch. Almost halfway to the first 1,000.
Fresh new BOBs with Victorian Era masks, a time that Bob would have felt at home in.
NOTE: The home page is getting filled with images and the load time is lagging. No new BOBs will be published there as the LAUNCH phase of this project is complete.
Today continues the count down to the official launch of the OpenSea collection and the first BOB01 has been gifted to the talented artist and NFT collector TrixieMeowtel, creator of Lil Bevs and Otherworld Punks – CLICK HERE
Today, some super groovy low effort Photoshop manipulations with Bob is his tux and looking his best. The photo was dropped onto a variety of backgrounds much like today’s school pictures. The images were then inverted and flopped for the X version. The backgrounds were screen capped like the old days and in an effort to avoid downloads.
You will also find four new animations on BOBANI01 including BOB Globe, BOBzilla, BOB Snow and BOB Hearts.
Thanks for your support of this project!
These 12 low effort Photoshop manipulations represent the latest BOBHED series with that inimitable smile and a twinkle in his eye. Bob was at his best with friends and family. This photo was captured when he was with a friend named Art. It isn’t a joke, it’s an actual friend of Bob’s named Art. I met many of Bob’s friends through his Facebook page after he died and reconnected with some mutual ones, too.
Thanks for your support of this project and helping pay tribute to my buddy Bob who I still miss very much as we approach the one year anniversary of his death.
Loved me some Bob Heads now in the BHED04 gallery and featuring fun with low effort Photoshop manipulations. Four POSTERIZED BOBs have been added to the front cover. Counting down to the first drops on OpenSea.
Despite not blogging because of super groovy projects in the offline world, art has been added to the site in honor of Bob Hires, the man, the myth, the legend. You will find a tribute to clip art images on the HATS03 page and Glow in the Dark Gnome is featured in a new series.
You will also find new BOBs on the homepage including a set of clip art hats and Doubling BOB.
Counting down to OpenSea drop for many of the arts pieces seen here. Get your Ethereum and join in the fun!
Bob was one of the first people I know who used an iPhone and was proud of it. He would show off its features and his apps with glee. One of his favorite apps would emit high pitched noises to ward off bugs or dogs or teenagers, depending on the setting.
The photo used in this series is the first photo he published on Facebook in 2008 after grabbing a selfie in the bathroom. It was his profile picture so there is no comment or likes on the photo. I am giving it the first Like today in honor of this series.
There is a special animation at the bottom of the scroll where the flash comes out of the Apple icon instead of where it should. Bob would have noticed that for sure!
Four ARTIST edition BOBs added to Home Page including Dali, Van Gogh, Warhol and Lichtenstein.
Yes a new fresh set of 24 BOB Heads are posted today at BOBHED2. This series is made from a self-portrait that Bob made using Photoshop techniques with layers and thresholds and brushes, etc., to create this effect. Now, only a few years later, this type of thing is an Instagram filter or Photoshop plug-in. Bob and I had a falling out about this technique and how people thought he was drawing, but it wasn’t with a pencil or a piece of charcoal – it was using Photoshop techniques he was learning from YouTube videos, like the rest of us. Case in point was a rendering of Dr. Who that he “drew” and I found the photo source that he used in the exact same pose. When I dropped his drawing onto the photo and every detail lined up exactly, he was mad at me for awhile. I am not sure what was so important to him to have people think he had drawn something that was made with Photoshop, but he was NOT happy with me.
NOTE: This BOBHED02 series has the first .gif animations on the site. Yes – the files are massive and WOW they will most likely slow down the page a lot, but I really like them. OK so credit where credit is due in regards to the actual animations that were glommed from giphy.com –
The 3rd Eye Kaleidoscope is from artist Joe Winograd – Find it when you click here
The TV Static behind BOB’s head is from YouTube – Find it when you click here
NOTE: Anyone who ever really knew Bob, knew he had a tough time doing the dishes. Believe you me! He had a little television in there to help motivate himself to clean his kitchen. That is not an actual photo of his home.
